My name is Alexandre, a French-born English barrister, who lives and works in Catalunya so consequently speaks Spanish and Catalan too.

Many years ago I established a small translation company, principally translating from and to French from English for the French Rugby Federation. This was continued by my family when I embarked on my legal career.

Several years later, in 1991 to 1993, I attended Bar School while at Lincoln's Inn preparing to be callled to the Bar as a barrister specialising in criminal, mercantile and business law, family law and EC Competition law.

My experience in the worlds of business began at American Express where I refunded traveller's cheques using my English, French and Spanish. This continued when working in the petro-chemical industry providing support to fuel and derivative traders. I had been brought on for my drafting expertise of financial instruments.

I soon was organising corporate finance conferences across the world to a multi-lingual audience of senior accounting and decision-making figures.

Having moved to Catalunya, I started to learn Catalan partly to integrate myself and partly to reanimate a slightly rusty Spanish. I now speak and write both fluently.

After a number of years conducting the wholesale of household gifts and piercing jewellery, I was picked to join the multi-lingual legal team working in English, French and Spanish to review and renegotiate sales and maintenance contracts for the world'¡s leading wind turbine manufacturer. This experience developped my knowledge of other legal jurisdictions and boosted my Spanish and Catalan abilities tangentially.

Once the firm moved to Madrid, my family and I decided to remain in the Catalan capital teaching English, Legal English and English for Business to local professionals, having obtained my Cambridge CELTA teacher of English to non-English speakers qualification at International House in Barcelona. Currently, I teach a number of classes to lawyers and software programmers, while reviewing contracts in renewable energies, wind technology and environmental issues.

I also have an increasing portfolio of law firms and companies requiring my translation and interpreting services. Naturally my passion for language and particularly English means that I am an extremely strong proofreader and problem-solver.
