In the visitors section of the profile, does anyone know what Index and Direct Link/Unknown mean? Do they signify visits from search engines?

My profile is constantly visited by googlebot, yandex bot, bing bot and some Chinese search engine bot They index your profile to make an up-to-date version visible in search engines.
