Discussion

AeC2009 Aug 19, 2009:
Source = Marolli:

transducer - 1 (a device converting a signal, as of acoustic form, into another signal as of electric form) (n. - phys. - milit. - comp. - electron. - etc.), trasduttore.

transductor - (alternating current regulator) (electromech.), amplificatore a trasduttore magnetico.
aeaton3 (asker) Aug 11, 2009:
This is the text it comes from:
I don't know of a specific piece of equipment or instrument that it would be referring to.
Carlos Ordaz Aug 11, 2009:
What is it monitoring? Any idea?

ICP monitor with epidural / subdural transductor

As far as I can tell, this could be related to an intra-craneal pressure monitor. A peak in intra-craneal pressure could cause cerebral edema and is therefore treated as an emergency; hence the need of real-time monitoring. And yes, this kind of monitor is a piece of equipment.
http://www.neurologyproductguide.com/bguide/User/Category/Ca...

Correction: AeC2009 is right, it should be transducer, not *transductor. Beware of false friends!

You are right. And don't apologize, this is what peer comments are for!
