Una definición bastante aceptada internacionalmente sobre el término “experiencia significativa” es la de la Organización de las Naciones Unidas. Estas se entienden como aquellas contribuciones que tengan “un impacto demostrable y tangible en la calidad de vida de las personas”, sean el “resultado de un trabajo efectivo en conjunto entre los diferentes sectores de la sociedad” y se consideren “social, cultural, económica y ambientalmente sustentable

meaningful experiences
I'm not familiar with this term, though I've worked for the United Nations and UN family organizations for decades, and continue to do so. Generally speaking, they prefer cognates and obvious translations for ease of communication, especially with key terminology. (They already have terms in Spanish for "best practices" "good practices" and "best buys" in Spanish). They don't use tricky terms. Based on their usual linguistic practices, I'm voting for the obvious.

: We don't have the full context, but I can't see how it could mean progress or improvement.

Discussion
It's a stretch to use 'experiences' as synonym for best practices. **Countries may trade experiences in how best to apply best practices, but best practices are always a formally approved list of things to do**.
An example: "Cono Sur" used to be translated as 'Southern Tier', but that translation was abandoned in favor of 'Southern Cone' because it was more straightforward and less confusing.
What are Best Practices?
The United Nations General Assembly defined best practices as “initiatives which have made outstanding contributions to improving quality of life in cities and communities.” More specifically, the General Assembly defined best practices as successful initiatives which:
1. Have a demonstrable and tangible impact on improving people’s quality of life;
2. Are the result of effective partnerships between the public, private and civic sectors of society;
3. Are socially, culturally, economically and environmentally sustainable.
