"La formazione di acido nitrico (HNO3) e acido solforico (H2SO4) e la loro deposizione su superfici di diversa natura chimica, come ad esempio lapidee o metalliche, sotto forma di pioggia acida causa la trasformazione del substrato e conseguente nitratazione e solfatazione."
Instinctively, it sounds like it should be nitration, but can't find any reference to this in this context on the net (to nitration is treating an organic compound with conc. NHO3 and conc H2SO4)!!
Anyone have any suggestions?
