Strichversion

Marketing

Corporate Design
The term appears in a Swiss Corporate Design manual and the whole sentence is as follows:
Die Schwarz-Weiss-Anwendung des Logos ist als Strichversion angelegt.
This phrase is accompanied by an illustration of two versions of the logo in black/white, one of them a negative of the other, i.e. with the colours reversed.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm stumped!

How those ol' designers are calling this.

Strichversion / line art are not the same. Imagine a black and white logo or drawing that you put in your scanner - it is still line art (no gradients, black and white only) but is not vectorized. You can vectorized it by rendering it with software such as Streamline or similar. Vectorized means that you can scale this drawing / logo without affecting the resolution.

Correction: Strichversion (line art) and the vectorized version are not the same. Sorry, I typed too fast and before my morning coffee..

Yes, line art. "Vectorized" is a technical specification that isn't asked for in your context.

Note from asker:
Thanks. So you mean I should use line art and not vector? |
Thank you very much for your quick help :-) I'll wait a bit before awarding points in case I get any other suggestions. |
