Tech/Engineering
Military / Defense
The XX microplate viewer is the first application of cutting edge military optical technology more commonly found on the battlefield into a laboratory based, healthcare application.
A new market for this global defence company it was essential that the design packaged and presented the technology in a way that was fresh, highly accessible, easy to use and had true global appeal.

Comment: "Client said I can use the German for "microplate reader" which is your translation, even though this might be new and they called it "viewer" and not "reader". Thank you."

ALTERNATIVES
(Kamera-)Zellkulturmikroskop
Autofocus-Zellkulturmikroskop
The term "Zellkulturmikroskop" nowadays is also common in the high-end range with a lot of novel features, e.g.:
"In dieser Core-Facility stehen neben einem hochauflösen-den Fluoreszenz-Zellkulturmikroskop (Olympus IX71, 4 Laser, HBO-Anregung, XBO-Anregung, diverse Spezialfilter mit höchster Transmissionseffizient, Nahinfrarot-Kamera bis 1200nm) auch ein ..."

NOT
"Plattenleser" would be mistaken for something like an "ELISA reader".
"Mikrotiterplatten" will be mistaken for ELISA or other applications.
"Inversmikroskop" - that´s what it actually is - would miss the novel aspects (autofocus etc.)
"Bildgebendes Inversmikroskop zur Auswertung von Zellkulturplatten" and various combinations and variations hereof - not acceptable for such a product
MICROPLATE VIEWER
Literal translations are either uncommon or unsuited. The Microplate Viewer is for fast and efficient observation and evaluation of cells and cell cultures. In fact it is a microscope built for this specific purpose:
An innovative optics company has developed a new, compact, desk top, high speed Microplate Viewer. Operating in the visual spectrum the non-invasive, inverted imaging system is particularly suited to the analysis of live, low contrast cultures such as Stem Cells and Cancer Tissue.
The simple to use unit offers versatile image presentation of the entire well assessment and provides image enhancement options which enable the users achieve a non-subjective pass/fail result.
Operating in the visual spectrum the non-invasive, inverted imaging system is particularly suited to analysing, and maintaining record of cell growth, confluence or other user identified criteria in live, low contrast cultures such as Stem and Cancer Cells.
Features of the unit include:
Motorised focus for image set up and for accommodating variations in plastics ware.
Illumination options to suit a variety of subjects.
Viewing system which can cope with a range of wellplate configurations includes curved field adaptor optics which enable users view both flat and round bottomed wells.
Rapid imaging time, to process a 96 wellplate is <2 minutes.
Low weight (6kgs) portability.
High resolution black and white or colour camera options.
Single/dual camera operation option with fully programmable 3 axis camera movements.
Evaluation of cells/colonies down to 7 microns.
The company is seeking laboratory/clinical research establishments that would like to work with them to evaluate the equipment prior to market launch.
If you are interested in discussing the uses, applications and possibly taking part in a project with this company please contact us so that we can Link you Up.
