Bonjour,
Je cherche comment traduire cette expression en français. Je traduis un texte sur l'histoire du syndicalisme et cette expression est employée pour dire qu'un activiste n'arrivait plus à trouver de travail, s'étant attiré l'hostilité du patronat à cause de ses activités et ses prises de position (voir un extrait du texte original plus bas). "Un homme à abattre" serait un peu excessif dans ce contexte. Y aurait-il quelque chose de plus idiomatique que "homme marqué" ou "homme marqué d'une cible"? Je vous serai reconnaissante de vos suggestions.

neutral  Tony M: Although the idiom is excellent, I can't see that it really works here: it generally means 'in the sights' (sought after, for good or bad), whereas here it's the opposite: he's a pariah!

Je n'avais pas osé proposer « grillé / grillé dans le milieu parce que je trouvais l'expression encore plus argotique que tricard et plus moderne mais je viens de faire une recherche et on trouve pas mal d'occurrences. Certaines justement dans le contexte exact des activités syndicales.
