“I was heading that way when you saved me.” Ta’Hast pointed in the direction of the cave-in.
Adriana glanced in the direction he pointed and shrugged. It wasn’t her job to inform him of the rockfall ahead.
“You don’t talk much, do you?”
She helped the quiet teen to his feet.
“Thank you for saving my life, I would be dead now if not for you. I will sing your praises to all I meet.”
She could tell by the way he took a deep breath he was about to sing. She pointed the weapon at him, a glare of mayhem in her eyes.
He let the deep breath go. “Sorry, something came over me.”
“See that it doesn’t happen again.” Careful to bypass the sinking sand, she pulled the male teen behind. Adriana did her best to head down the path to freedom from the gorge.
