English term

To make the motor circuit

English to French Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng
I have trouble understanding the phrase "make... circuit" in these sentences:

- The Motor Limit Switch has now moved so as to make the closing circuit.

- The Motor Limit Switch, actuated via the Motor Limit Switch Actuating Cam, has made the motor circuit.

- The Auxiliary Switch, which is coupled to the Main Shaft, has made the opening release coil circuit and broken the closing circuit.

Thank you very much for your help!

English term (edited): to make the circuit
Selected

fermer le circuit

make = complete the circuit, so that the current can pass; we talk about switched, relays, etc. as having 'make' or 'break' contacts, in order to close or open the circuit, for which we use fermeture / ouverture in FR.

neutral Tony M : Although fortuitously that is what is happening, it isn't actually a translation of the question term, and wouldn't work in other instances. Nothing "curieux" about it — this is perfectly standard EN technical terminology!
