There are a number of required items that must be included in every claim, either on the Explanation of Benefits from the Insurance Company, or the itemized bill from the provider:
• Date(s) of service
• Name of provider(s)
• Description of services provided
• Condition requiring treatment (for medical claims)
• Amount of expense and any insurance payments (if applicable)
• Signature of provider on claim form if no receipt is available (for Dependent Daycare claims only)

"supporting documents for the expenses"/"statements of expenditure" son los términos que corresponderían a "justificantes de gastos"... lo cual no transmite la idea de "proof"/"prueba".

: no procede añadir algo que no está en el original; por otra parte, en algunos casos basta incluir un concepto (o los que sean), sin necesidad de documentos (ej. fecha del servicio, problema que requiere tratamiento, etc.) Saludos!

No estoy de acuerdo. Por el contexto, "documentales" es más que válido... "pruebas de los gastos" a secas resulta insuficiente y demasiado informal.
