(to be/become) ensnared (in)

With the phrase «دردام عشق» this is the vocabulary we are looking for. We could say entrapped but it would be redundant with «دام»

Captivated is really not the word we want here.

Dictionary definition of captivate:
to attract and hold the attention or interest of, as by beauty or excellence; enchant: Her blue eyes and red hair captivated him.

Perhaps the vizier was captivated by Zibalnesa Begum, but she definitely fell into the trap.

we can also use attracted or enchanted but captivated gives the best impression.

disagree Edward Plaisance Jr : I feel bad about disagreeing with everyone on this, but "captivate" is really not the word we want here. Especially when we are talking about being caught in the "love trap"

Nowadays, it is not a single person or dictionary which can dictate what is right or wrong. It is a very powerful and huge tool called the corpus of the web which decides and shows the trend. Please search these two forms and see: captivated* / ensnared*
