: It's 1998/99. No, Snatalieg: it becomes 1999 on 1 January, which is not Sep/Oct.

: in otherwords, it depends what the month is: if it's before Sept. or Oct. equivalent, then it's 1998, after that (ie rosh haShanah) it will be 1999
