English term
Pathos of Distance
English
Art/Literary
Philosophy
This term is from the work of Friedrich W. Nietzsche. I know that google offers lots of explanations. But to understand those explanations requires understanding at least a dozen other philosophical jargons. So I would appreciate it if somebody could give me a simple and layman explanation.

feeling superior over those who are inferior
In layman terms, it's like when you feel you are better then others and you DO know you are better. So, you feel the difference, the distance between you and others.
Quite a great feeling to excuse our failures at KudoZ, eh? ;-)
