montage en rack Zero-U Explanation: Il semble que la terminologie exacte soit plutôt Zero-U rack space... Il s'agit d'un montage en rack "gain de place" (n'utilisant pas d'emplacement en face avant), cf l'URL ci-dessous, où l'on trouve cette présentation : Users can choose to mount their PDU in either a "Zero-U" configuration (which consumes no front-panel rack mounting space) or a "1U" configuration. encombrement nul en armoire Explanation: NOTE 1 : La caractéristique des commutateurs KVM avec câblage CAT5 est qu'ils peuvent être placés sur une table à une distance pouvant atteindre 300 mètres des baies contenant les serveurs. Il s'agit donc bien d'une encombrement nul en armoire puisqu'il n'est pas obligatoire de les placer à côté des serveurs. NOTE 2 : Par ailleurs, les commutateurs montés en armoire sont distribués pour réduire l'encombrement : "Phantom's Distributed Switching Technology (DST) divides the KVM switch into smaller subunits: a Manager and multiple Remote units. The Remote units can be placed inside the servers (PCI Cards) or on the side or back of the rack (Specter Units) where they occupy no rack space!
