Source text - Russian Несмотря на неотразимое внешнее обаяние, нерпа – животное, трудно поддающееся дрессировке. В природе она живёт в одиночку, не только не собираясь в стаи, но и не соз-давая семей. Байкальский тюлень – сам себе голова, он недоверчив и самостоятелен. Маленький нерпёнок очень рано уже в два с половиной месяца, отрывается от матери и бро-дяжничает в священном море, как заправский Гаврош. Это самый серьёзный байкальский хищник, и в родной среде ему никто не указ, кроме, конечно, двуногого врага. Взрослым он становится не раньше пяти лет.
Translation - English In spite of its irresistible outward charm, nerpa are difficult animals to train. In nature it lives on its own. Not only does it not herd, it does not create families either. The Baikal seal is its own master, untrusting and independent. A baby nerpa separates from its mother at the very early age of two months and a half and tromps around the sacred sea like a true gutter-snipe. It is the most serious Baikal predator, and nobody is authority for the nerpa in its habitat except for its two-legged enemy. Nerpa does not reach adulthood until it turns 5 years old.

An Oilman is: laziness with a pack of cards, bravery with a tattered copy of Playboy and protector of the world on a 6 pack of beer. He has the energy of a Tortoise, the slyness of a Fox, the brains of a Worm, the stories of a Sea Captain, the sincerity of a born liar and the aspirations of a Casanova. Some of his interests are: Women, Females, Dames, Broads, Chicks and the opposite sex.
He dislikes answering letters, overtime, safety meetings and warm beer. No one else can cram so much into one pocket: a dirty handkerchief, a package of crushed Cigarettes, a picture of his girlfriend, a comb, a church key, an old boarding card and what is left of out of last weeks pay.
He likes to spend money on girls, some on booze, some on horses, some on football and the rest he just spends foolishly.
An Oilman is a magical creature. You can lock him out of your house, but not out of your heart. You can scratch him from a Chopper list, but not from your mind - he is your one and only pissed off pain in the ass.
