Source text - German Außenpolitische Strategie – Umsetzung der unter der derzeitigen Präsidentschaft zu beschließenden Strategie. Die Situation in der Nachbarschaft ist von besonderer Bedeutung für die Sicherheit in der Union. Dabei hängen innere und äußere Sicherheit eng zusammen. Die Präsidentschaft wird sich deshalb auf folgende Punkte konzentrieren:
a) die Heranführung der Länder in der EU-Nachbarschaft und am Balkan an die Sicherheitsstandards der EU, durch einen umfassenden Ansatz, bei dem die innere Sicherheit mit der Europäischen Nachbarschaftspolitik vernetzt wird
b) und die Herausbildung einer „Partnerschaft für die Sicherheit“ mit diesen Staaten.
Translation - English Foreign affairs strategy – realization of the strategy to be decided under the current presidency. The situation in neighbouring countries is of particular importance to security in the EU. Internal and foreign affairs are closely connected in this regard. The presidency will therefore concentrate on the following points:
a) the introduction of countries that border the EU and of the Balkan states to EU security standards, using a comprehensive approach in which internal security is networked with European politics towards neighbouring states.
b) and the formation of a “Partnership for Security” with these states.
