We have business dealings of many kinds with organizations and individuals all over the world.
In conducting our business, we expect our employees not to misrepresent our position and to promptly correct anything that seems to be misunderstood. We compete through our superior services and products — not through negative remarks about our competitors. Our financial reports are reviewed by investors, government agencies and our auditors. We rely on the accuracy of these reports in developing our business strategies and representing our competitive position to investors and the public as a whole.
Employees must follow established accounting procedures to ensure the complete and accurate recording of all business transactions. Employees are urged to report any suspicions of improper accounting or auditing practices. These matters should be reported to a supervisor, the Human Resources Department or the Law Department.
In addition, a confidential anonymous complaint may be filed using Ferro’s Legal and Ethical Conduct Hotline. It is a violation of Ferro policy to retaliate against employees who report in good faith questionable accounting or auditing matters or other potential violations of our Code of Business Conduct.

In some embodiments, the support structure may be a movable support structure. One, two or more pipette heads may be movable along the support structure so that the lateral distance between the pipette heads may be variable. In some instances, the pitch of the pipette heads may be variable to encompass or be limited by one or more of the dimensions previously described. In one example, the pipette heads may be slidable along the support so that the distances from center to center of the pipette heads may vary. Each of the pipette heads may be variable so that they are the same distance apart, or may be individually variable so that they may be at various distances apart. A lateral distance proportion between the pipette heads may remain the same as pipette head positions vary, or may change. Pipettes, blades, or nozzles may change their relative position (move in or out, expand or shrink) to achieve different pitches as needed and may access resources in multiple planes at one time.

A unimodal function is one that has only one peak (maximum) or valley (minimum) in a given interval. Thus a function of one variable is said to be unimodal if, given that two values of the variable are on the same side of the optimum, the one nearer the optimum gives the better functional value (i.e., the smaller value in the case of a
minimization problem). This can be stated mathematically as follows:
A function f (x) is unimodal if (i) x1 < x2 < x∗ implies that f (x2) <
f (x1), and (ii) x2 >x1 >x∗ implies that f (x1) < f (x2), where x∗ is the
minimum point.
Some examples of unimodal functions are shown in Fig. 5.4. Thus a unimodal function can be a nondifferentiable or even a discontinuous function. If a function is known to be unimodal in a given range, the interval in which the minimum lies can be narrowed down provided that the function values are known at two different points in the range.
