Hello folks

A section of my profile consists of a list of bullet points. I would like to split them into two columns (as you could easily in a Word document, for example), so that the first few points start on the far left of the page, and the remaining points start half-way across the page. That would make the list look shorter while visually breaking up the content a little more. The preceding and subsequent sections of the profile should remain in a single column.

Is there a workable way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

Inserting columns into the "About me" section May 6, 2013

Hello Oliver,

To insert columns into the "About me" section of your profile, use the HTML code included in this file: http://cdn2.proz.com/file_resources/other/184172f85cfa8cb861e76d72d204581c_columns.txt (if the file doesn't open right away, please try again in 15-20 minutes to give it time to sync to all site servers).

See that you will have to replace the following with your own content:

TITLE OF COLUMN 1
CONTENT OF COLUMN 1
TITLE OF COLUMN 2
CONTENT OF COLUMN 2
CONTENT OUTSIDE COLUMN

(I inserted these in capitals so that you can find them easily)

Please give it a try and let me know how it goes or if you need any help.

Kind regards,

Lucia

Just use an HTML table May 6, 2013

HTML table:

<table><tr><td width="50%">
YOUR FIRST COLUMN HERE
</td><td width="50%">
YOUR SECOND COLUMN HERE
</td></tr></table>

If you want the table borders to be invisible, change the "table" tag as follows:

<table cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0" border="0">

If you want to control the alignment with the cells, try:

<td width="50%" align="left" valign="top">

Thanks Samuel May 6, 2013

Worked a treat. I had to fiddle a bit to get the line spacing after the table right, but it's just what I was after.
Thanks also to Lucia.

Tablez! Jun 15, 2013

Wow, a table layout in 2013!

I tried using divs with fixed widths, but it didn't work for some reason (haven't tried percentile widths yet).
