When and where to publish your rates

Hello!
I am starting to work as a translator. I have a question and if you can help me, I would be very grateful. When we respond to a job posting, and the agency has not asked for or specified anything in relation to the fees, should I send my fees or should I expect a proposal? I keep thinking, what if I send a certain fee and the agency is willing to pay more? But I'm afraid I'm losing jobs by sometimes not sending my fees in the initial contact. Any tips?

Thanks.
You should really start a new thread. There are plenty of people who would be glad to help, but it's a different subject.

Sincerely - thank you for your time! Though all that we already 'lnow' but such a detailed reminder is very welcome. By the way, why CVs are needed at all? Shouldn't they be replaced by a presentation file rather than a CV? Does my secondary school and intersts really matter for translation projects in general?
