To get the most out of ProZ.com initially, you must make sure that your profile page is as complete as possible, and then you have to start contacting translation agencies and registering on their various systems (and you do this by using the Blue Board). If you can, start answering KudoZ questions, if your language combination has a lot of those.

I would suggest translating professionally only into your native language(s). If you do decide to do otherwise, then have that work proofread by a native speaker.

It is very easy to make a simple mistake in a non-native language. These will be forgiven in ordinary conversation - even charming - but not in a text someone is paying for. A minor mistake can be a tell-tale sign that the text has not been done by a native speaker. If you do so, you may be putting your professional credib
