ProZ.com KudoZ archive surpasses two million terms
Community-generated archive of tough terms is open to all

SYRACUSE, NY, September 16th, 2008 — ProZ.com, the world’s leading community of translation professionals, today announced that the "KudoZ" archive of terms and their translations has now grown to a size of over two million terms.

ProZ.com's KudoZ network provides a framework for translators to assist each other with translations or explanations of terms and short phrases. Through KudoZ, ProZ.com's archive of tough terms and their translations, has been built one term at a time, by tens of thousands of translators, over the past nine years.

With the increased size of the glossary has come increased utility. Now, on a typical day, ten thousand or more translators will use the KudoZ archive: http://ksearch.proz.com/search/ to research terms.
The KudoZ archive receives traffic from all over the world, making ProZ.com one of the top 5,000 sites on the web, as measured by http://www.alexa.com

With well researched answers to 2 million queries, KudoZ is the largest multilingual term base built by language professionals. “I turn to KudoZ whenever I face a terminology problem, or have doubts about the meaning or rendering of a phrase,” said Magda Dziadosz a long-time member of the ProZ.com community. “Answering questions is the best practice for a terminologist. I can meet those who know the answer, see their thinking behind it, observe how they reach solutions and learn from them."
