Refactor your translation business with Kilgray Translation Technologies’ memoQ 6.0

Refactor your translation business with Kilgray Translation Technologies’ memoQ 6.0

Kilgray Translation Technologies, developers of the translation environments memoQ, memoQ server, memoQWebTrans, qTerm and TM Repository, have announced the availability of memoQ 6.0, and further improvements to memoQWebTrans and qTerm.

With the aim of creating a translation tool that is faster, more robust, and more efficient than before, memoQ has been refactored over the last year. Introducing ground-breaking concepts and features for the translation industry, memoQ 6.0 offers a wealth of productivity boosters for freelance translators, language service providers and enterprise customers alike, and prepares for a scalability that matches the needs of any enterprise or language service provider.

memoQ users can now translate Microsoft Office Word and Excel files without having installed Microsoft Office on their computer. Folder connections are now available also for freelance translators: memoQ will import, pre-translate and analyze documents automatically that were copied into a given folder. Further improvements include predictive typing, improved concordance hits and preview for SDL Trados TagEditor files, new checks for translation consistency, list of favorite languages, a redesigned horizontal editor and much more.

With the introduction of FirstAccept™, GroupSourcing™, Slicing™ and Subvendor group™, the whole translation workflow was made more transparent and easier to handle for memoQ server users. On top of the Google MT and memoQ pseudo-translate plugins, the memoQ server is now integrated with Machine Translation solutions like Microsoft Translator, SYSTRAN Enterprise Server, iTranslate4.eu, and LetsMT!. Active directory integration and proxy support is available for server users.

With the release of version 6.0, real-time preview for translation becomes available in memoQWebTrans, the browser-based translation interface designed for memoQ server users.

In parallel with the release of memoQ 6.0, Kilgray announces further improvements to its online terminology management tool, qTerm: among other things, qTerm users can now provide browser-based access without authentication to public terminology databases.
