Source text - English As with the non-enhanced EVAP systems, the vent valve allows fresh air to enter the tank during vehicle operation and also allows air to escape from the tank during refueling. The vent solenoid controls the vent valve based on instructions received from the powertrain control module (PCM). The valve is normally left open, but will close when commanded by the EVAP, typically during EVAP leak diagnostic testing.
