I am GIDEON ZANGUE FOLEM, a professional freelance translator. I have a Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree in Translation from the Advanced School of Translators and Interpreters (ASTI). I am very eager and willing to put at your service all the skills and experience acquired in the field of translation and linguistics.

In high school I completed several language courses with my major courses in English and French. At the university level, I graduated with a combined honour Degree in English and French, as you will find in my resume. Having discovered my passion for languages, I decided to pursue my academic career in the linguistic field with the study of English and French languages and literatures in details. Moreover, to gain a better understanding of the skill of translation, after my degree in English and French, obtained from the only Anglo-Saxon university in Cameroon, the University of Buea, I enrolled in ASTI, from where I graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree in Translation with English and French as my working languages. Now, as a professional Freelance Translator, I have worked on a number of projects both here in Cameroon (e.g. At the Ministry of Public Health as you will find in my resume) and abroad, online. I have an office in the South-West Region of Cameroon, where I carried out Translation processes with a team of professional translators.

My Degree studies and my training as a Professional Translator gave me a high level of proficiency of the French and English languages and sharpened my critical thinking thereby improving my English and French writing skill. As a result, I have grown perfectly accustomed to working in English and French. I have also taught French and English languages, as a part timer.

I believe these skills to be essential in translating texts, as they enable me to work in a precise manner with eye for details as well as for the end result. In my free time, I further practice my skills by proofreading and editing French and English texts. Furthermore, I dedicate time to translation projects for companies and to proofreading of English texts for acquaintances. In short, I enjoy not only translating but also doing the linguistic checks of texts. Moreover, I have good mastery of MS Office and good technological knowledge thanks to my IT training at the Institute of Technology, Paraklete (as found in my resume).
As evidenced by my strong academic performance and projects, I am a motivated and hard-working person who can go extra miles for the client's satisfaction.
