opening entry of an attached proceedings Explanation: Sometimes two different but related cases are united. In this case, the case records of the one attached to the other becomes an "apenso" in the file, and it will have a page explaining why it was joined to the other case. This page is the "termo de abertura". As a note, it is usually physically and loosly attached with white string, to form one set of records. As the records grow and grow (sometimes thousands of pages!), they are separated into Volumes to make it easier to handle them. |

(Br PO) termo de abertura de apenso (BrE) record of opening a joined trial bundle Explanation: I also have a note of transcript for termo. Probaly Brazilian Portuguese - as hinted at by the other answers, though not spelled out. In BrE/IrE, civil actions are joined whilst driminal appeals are consolidated. The US/Can. practic/se may well be different. Reference: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/portuguese_to_english/law_general/... Reference: http://https://civillitigationbrief.wordpress.com/2013/12/16... |
