The definition given my client is the following: THIS IS USED FOR THE INSTALLER TO INSERT THE ALUMINUM CAPPING ONCE THE DOOR HAS BEEN CAPPED WITH ALUMINUM.
This appears on a form to be filled out by installers with their clients. Just says: capping return 23 $

| Clarification request(s) and responsekashew: 7:47am Jul 24, 2008: Sounds like these are end/finishing caps slotted onto the main aluminium capper. NB: If the client info is exact, "used for" indicates it's a device/tool.

If it is indeed a tool, it would (should) have been indicated somehow.
Sonia Gouin: 1:01pm Jul 24, 2008: definition of return - Effectivement, "return" dans ce cas-ci n'a aucune signification monétaire. Kashew seems to be on the right track. There is not much context to offer you. However, here is how it appears as a line item on the form:
FRAME NOTCHING: Passage Deadbolt Yes No Capping return (white only) Yes No.
Client did mention that it is something that sticks out. Hope this helps.
kashew: 1:38pm Jul 24, 2008: We are getting closer. The capping is either all over the door (i.e. façade) or its a n element at the top (couronnement); and the return is a finishing piece, either to round the edges or finish off/ornament the ends of a top element, kind of corniche.

Sonia Gouin: 2:04pm Jul 24, 2008: No picture available but client did give further info. It is a strip of plastic that gets stapled around the door frame. The aluminium cladding slides into this. Not exactly what I thought this was. His Quebec rep told me to use: retour de cappage (couldn't sleep well using that term, do you have a suggestion?)

Un client peut demander une structure métallique revêtue de pvc ou alu, bois, etc...
Je pense qu'il s'agit d'un coût relatif à l'option choisie. (Bois, alu, pvc).
